Speaking in Tongues

Speaking in Tongues is an indecipherable journey through the Southern landscape. It is a series on Christianity, infrastructure, bio-productivity, mass media, climate devastation, and abandonment. In the creation of this project, I rejected narrative and embraced symbolism. Rather than focus on a clear thesis, I allowed my mind to jump from one idea to the next. I met many people, but photographed their trash instead of their faces. I looked under and behind. It is a conflict between two forms of growth. Most of all, it is open to interpretation.
